Mitchell was born in Boston, Massachusetts and remained in that area throughout his childhood; until 1983 when he left to attend Marquette University’s Business School and NROTC Program in Milwaukee. Allen presently serves as Superintendent of the Quitman County School System in rural South Georgia. From 2006 through 2011, he was a school improvement specialist with the Georgia Department of Education, working with many high schools and middle schools in central and south Georgia to develop innovative ideas and approaches to better education. GA Superintendent Candidate Richard Woods
Richard is the son of Jack and Juanita Tucker Woods, both of whom are originally from Irwin County. During his father's twenty year tour of service in the United States Navy, Richard was born in Pensacola, Florida in August of 1962 and has had the privilege of seeing vast parts of our country for many years. He is married to Lisha, his wife of twenty-three years. Lisha has been an educator for twenty-nine years and is currently employed with the Tift County School System.
