Meet Allen Fort on March 10th

Fort brings nearly four decades of teaching and leadership service in Georgia schools to his candidacy for State School Superintendent.

Allen presently serves as Superintendent of the Quitman County School System in rural South Georgia. From 2006 through 2011, he was a school improvement specialist with the Georgia Department of Education, working with many high schools and middle schools in central and south Georgia to develop innovative ideas and approaches to better education.

In that position, Allen worked on the creation of Georgia's Graduation Coach Program and the High School and Middle School Redesign Program.

Allen previously served as Principal of Gordon Central High School, Statesboro High School, Mattie Lively Elementary School and Rabun County High School; Assistant Principal of Loganville High School and Lincoln County High School; High School and Middle School Dean of The Valwood School; and as a classroom teacher at Westover High School, Blackshear High School and Lee County Upper Elementary School. Allen Fort will be our guest speaker at the March 10th meeting at the Country Inn & Suites.  Our meeting will begin at 6:00pm. 

The Athens GOP will not endorse any candidate during the GOP primary.  We will have information on all candidates seeking office in the US Senate.
