Join us for the CCRC's next monthly meeting, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Monday, 10 May. Our speakers for the evening will be John Barge, candidate for State Superintendent of Schools, and Bill Cowsert, the current incumbent in and candidate for State Senate District 46.
Dr. Barge is currently the Director of Secondary Curriculum with the Bartow County School System. He also has experience as a college professor, high school principal, and the Director of Career, Technical, and Agriculture Education for Georgia D.O.E. According to his campaign website: "Above all else, John believes in local control, free enterprise, and the constitutional right and obligation of the State of Georgia to educate its children without interference from the federal government."
Bill Cowsert was elected to the Georgia State Senate from the 46th District in 2006. He represents the citizens of Oconee and portions of Clarke and Walton counties. Senator Cowsert will deliver a report on the recently ended state legislative session. He has also just been elected as the chair of the Republican caucus.
The meeting takes place at CCRC Headquarters, located at 445 North Milledge Avenue. Refreshments will be served beginning at 6:00 p.m., with the program following at 6:25 p.m.
