Athens GOP Meeting - Monday, April 14th at 6pm



Save the date for Monday, April 14th..  The Athens GOP will host Mayor Nancy Denson at the Country Inn & Suites.  We will also hear from candidate Brian Slowinski on his campaign for the 10th Congressional District.  Finally, Chief Probation Officer, Dale Allen will give a presentation on the Athens-Clarke County Probation Services.   The meeting will begin at 6:00pm with brief announcements and introductions.  For more information on this event and all upcoming events, please sign up for the Athens GOP Newsletters (Click here to sign up)

Nancy Denson was elected Mayor of Athens-Clarke in 2010.  Prior to serving as Mayor, Nancy was the Athens-Clarke County Tax Commissioner for 25 years.  Right now Nancy is running for reelection and is currently facing Tim Denson (no relation) in the mayoral race.  For more information on Nancy Denson, please visit her site at nancydensonformayor.com

Dale Allen is the Chief Probation Officer for the Athens-Clarke County Probation Services.  His Presentation, “ The Economics of Doing the Right Thing” will  provide An overview of the Athens-Clarke County Probation Services two-prong operating philosophy that prioritizes accountability and rehabilitation opportunities will be presented. Since the inception of this governmental probation unit in 2008, public safety has been enhanced and progressive community reintegration promoted while maintaining a positive fiscal result for the citizens of Athens-Clarke.
