Jerri is a policy lawyer whose work
focuses on K-12 education and healthcare policy in the United States. She currently leads the statewide educational
efforts of the Brighter Georgia Education Coalition, a nonprofit and
nonpartisan group of education organizations working together to ensure that all
of Georgia’s students have access to a quality public education.
Jerri will discuss public charter
schools, their current status in Georgia, and the charter schools amendment on
the upcoming November ballot. Topics
will include the similarities and differences between public charter schools
and traditional public schools, types of charter schools, charter school
funding and accountability, and the impact of the charter schools amendment on
public education in Georgia.
