Athens GOP meeting on Monday - Judge Auslander


The Athens GOP will meet on Monday, April 9th at 6:00pm.  Our guest will be Judge Auslander.  We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday!

Meet Judge Auslander

Judge Charles E. Auslander, III was appointed to the State Court of Athens-Clarke County by Gov. Nathan Deal in December 2011. From October 2002 to December 2011, he served as a Judge in the Magistrate Court of Athens-Clarke County. 
In April 2005, Judge Auslander joined the Athens-Clarke County State Court DUI / Drug Court to serve both as a team member and assistant judge to State Court Judge Kent Lawrence. Upon the retirement of Judge Lawrence in 2011, Judge Auslander took over management of the DUI/Drug Court team. 
In May 2006, the Supreme Court of Georgia appointed Judge Auslander to serve a five year term on the Georgia Commission On Dispute Resolution.  In 2011, Judge Auslander was appointed by the President of the State Bar of Georgia to serve a three year term on the Next Generation Courts Commission.  From 2009 to 2011, Judge Auslander served as an elected representative on the Executive Committee for the Council of Magistrate Court Judges and served as the chair of the Council’s Legislative Committee. Judge Auslander serves as a member of the faculty for the Institute of Continuing Judicial Education of Georgia, which is responsible for the continuing education for judges. 
Prior to becoming a judge, Judge Auslander practiced with the law firm of McArthur and McArthur, P.A. in Athens, Georgia. Judge Auslander graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Economics and from the University of Georgia School of Law. 
Judge Auslander is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Athens and serves as an elected member of the Parish Council. He also serves as a Trustee on the Board of Trustees for Monsignor Donovan Catholic High School in Athens. Judge Auslander serves on the Board of the Athens Community Council on Aging. Judge Auslander is married and has two children.  He coaches youth soccer and basketball and is an avid runner.
