Upcoming FON Meeting Regarding "Quality of Life" Ordinances in Athens

John Spagna, the Community Protection Division administrator, will speak at the November 1 meeting of the Federation of Neighborhoods. Community Protection is a division of the Building Inspections and Permits Department.  It is responsible for enforcing the "quality of life" ordinances in Athens-Clarke County.  These ordinances include: the number of unrelated people who are permitted to live in a house in a single family residential zone; front yard parking; junk vehicles, littering; unsafe structures; prohibited signs; and illegal dumping. Mr. Spagna will give an overview of the CPD and its organization and discuss enforcement policies and procedures.

The meeting will be held at the Fire Hall at 489 Prince Avenue (Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation) at 7:30 pm on November 1.
