CCRC Kicks Off 2010 With a Bang
Join us for the CCRC's next monthly meeting, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Monday, 11 January 2010. Our speaker for the evening will be Melvin Everson, the lone Republican candidate for Georgia Commissioner of Labor.
Those who attended the CCRC’s recent raffle will remember Mr. Everson as a dynamic speaker, a fiscal conservative, and a retired military veteran. What for many of us is an inconvenient downturn is for some a financial crisis that threatens their families’ stability and well being. Mr. Everson will share his ideas about what the Department of Labor can do to help get Georgians back to work.
The meeting will take place at CCRC Headquarters, located at 445 North Milledge Avenue. Refreshments will be served beginning at 6:00 p.m., with the program following at 6:25 p.m.
Also, don’t forget that the CCRC is sponsoring a debate amongst the Republican candidates for the governorship of Georgia. The debate will take place at the Journalism auditorium on the UGA campus on Tuesday evening, 19 January 2010. Radio and television broadcasts will cover the entire state. WNEG of Toccoa and WGCL of Atlanta will broadcast the debate in the Athens metro area. The debate will air on 1340am WGAU in Athens. The debate moderator is Ray Metoyer and the panelists are Dawn Hobby, Stephanie Fisher, and Tim Bryant. If you would like to attend the debate, please email your request here.
