CCRC Convention Dates and Sites

At its January meeting, the Clarke County Republican Committee adopted the following schedule and locations for its 2009 conventions:

Precinct Mass Meetings for all of the county’s precincts will be held centrally on Saturday, 07 February, at the Athens Country Club, located at 2700 Jefferson Road. There is no registration fee to attend the Precinct Mass Meetings, which are open to all Clarke County registered voters sharing the Republican philosophy. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m and continues until 10:00 a.m., at which time the Precinct Mass Meetings will commence. Please note that if you are not registered by 10:00 a.m., you cannot participate as a voting member (per the rules of the Georgia Republican Party). This is the point at which delegates and alternate delegates to the County Convention are elected.

The County Convention will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, 14 March, also at the Athens Country Club. This is the point at which delegates and alternate delegates to the District and State Conventions are elected. Also, CCRC officers for the period 2009-2011 will be elected at this Convention. There may be a nominal registration fee to cover use of the facility.

The 10th District Convention will be held Saturday, 18 April, at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education, located at 1197 South Lumpkin Street.

The State Convention will be held Friday and Saturday, 15-16 May, at the Savannah International Convention & Trade Center, located at 1 International Drive.

Please note that if you wish to be a delegate or alternate delegate to the District and/or State Conventions, it is imperative that you attend the Precinct Mass Meetings.
